Pantone Color of the Year: Very Peri

Each year, Pantone, the company known for its custom color matching system, names its color of the year. For 2022, that title goes to Very Peri (aka Pantone 17-3938). The company notes that the color, which beautifully blends blue hues with purple and red undertones, is a perfect metaphor for our times.

“We live in a time of transformation. PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri is a symbol of the global zeitgeist and the transition we are going through. As we emerge from an intense period of isolation, our notions and norms are shifting, and our physical and digital lives have merged in new ways,” the company notes. “Displaying a carefree confidence and bold curiosity that drives our creative spirit, Very Peri, inquisitive and intriguing, helps us embrace this altered landscape of possibility, opening us up to new vision as we rewrite our lives. Rekindling gratitude for some of the qualities blue represents, complemented by a fresh perspective that resonates today, Very Peri puts the future in a new light.
