Porotech, a Pioneer in MicroLED and GaN-based Semiconductor Technology, Introduces the World’s First Set of Indium Gallium Nitride (InGaN) Red, Green, and Blue MicroLED Displays to 1920 1080x resolution with at least 2 million nits of brightness (≥ 2M slow) to Touch Taiwan Event.
Porotech is the first in the industry to demonstrate all three-color light-emitting elements produced with a single material and a single tool chain, thanks to its revolutionary microLED technology platform, PoroGaN™ – comprising a native red InGaN display at a length of wave of 614-625 nm. The platform’s proprietary sub-surface porosity technology highlights a breakthrough for dramatically increasing brightness and efficiency in all three primary colors, while its scalable architectures simplify manufacturing processes, reducing costs, which are all essential requirements for commercializing microLED displays for next-generation consumer AR. /MR/VR glasses, smart wearables and smart displays.
Until now, the requirement to mix multiple material systems has complicated the fabrication of color displays in the micro (µm) or nanopixel (nm) space, due to the marked drop in efficiency of the red sub-pixel with decreasing pixel. Enabled by proprietary technologies, the PoroGaN platform produced a red InGaN display of wavelength 614-625 nm, as well as green InGaN 536-543 nm and blue InGaN 444-447 nm displays. The company will demonstrate how the platform facilitates emission across a broad spectrum of wavelengths, from blue to green and in the reddest red ever produced natively from InGaN at Touch Taiwan.
Recently, Porotech successfully created the world’s first microLED display based on native red InGaN – with an active area of 0.55 inches diagonally and a resolution of 960×540. In early 2022, the company secured a Series A investment $20 million to accelerate global expansion and mass production of its microLED products.
After the Touch Taiwan exhibition, the company will showcase its dynamic pixel adjustment capability to process the full color spectrum at SID Display 2022 in San Jose, California, USA.
