Versace’s range of collaborations gets a boost for Pride – thanks to none other than Cher.

The iconic singer has teamed up with the Italian luxury house to launch ‘Chersace’, a limited-edition Pride capsule collection. The rainbow-hued collection includes a range of unisex pieces, which will support Gender Spectrum – a charity that shares resources and creates gender-sensitive and inclusive environments for young people of diverse gender identities.

The line, which sells for between $125 and $3,350, just launched on Versace website. Pieces in the collection include a $125 pair of black socks and one $425 black t-shirt, each sporting a rainbow version of Versace’s Medusa logo and “Chersace” lettering. The line also includes a $3,350 version of the same T-shirt reworked with multicolored crystals, gaining popularity by being hand-signed by Versace and Cher. To complete the collection, a $325 black baseball cap with the same logo, as well as white “Chersace” lettering and embroidered versions of the Cher and Versace signatures.

The line stems from the duo’s longtime friendship and the mutual love and support of the LGBTQIA+ community.

“Donatella and I have been dear friends forever,” Cher said in a press release. “It was fitting that our first-ever collab was about LGBTQ pride and celebrating a community that means so much to both of us. We wanted to create a fun collection to support a good cause, and we hope you like it.

The feeling is mutual for Versace, who has dressed the Grammy Award-winning singer on numerous occasions.

“It has always been my dream to collaborate with Cher, and it has finally come true!” Versace shared in a press release. “I am delighted that we can support such a brilliant charity which is having such a positive impact, especially on young people. »

The project has particularly strong ties to Cher’s own values, as she has been a strong supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community for decades; in fact, she has even been considered a “gay icon” due to the hardships she faced while achieving success and her glamorous aesthetic. The musician was also a pioneer in bringing the community to the forefront of pop culture, including hiring drag queens to perform during her Las Vegas residency in 1979 and receiving tributes from numerous artists since. drag. This also extended to her acting work, where she starred in the beloved LGBTQIA+ movies “Silkwood” and “Moonstruck” and appeared as herself in the gay comedy “Will and Grace.”

“Chersace” closely follows the Italian brand’s viral “Fendace” collaboration, a co-designed collection blending Versace and the house’s signature Fendi across a range of categories. It also joins a variety of colorful collections launched this Pride Month from many brands, including Toms, Ugg, Converse, Vans, Happy Socks and more.
