Feeling a little blue about dating someone? Do you see that “green-eyed monster” when your friends talk about their good relationships? Whether it’s Monday Blues, 50 Shades of Gray or Black Friday, we’ve long had an intimate connection with color. Even though colors don’t have emotions or feelings, we still attribute them to colors.
Blue is sad, black is for mourning. White is for purity and life. But what about love? What color can accurately describe how love makes us feel?
According to science, one color can give women the boost they need to attract the man we’re interested in: red. It’s true ladies, so grab that little red dress you spent way too much money on and apply your boldest lipstick, and hit the town! You were supposed to find love in this color.
While that’s no big surprise – we’ve long known that red is the color of passion and warmth – there’s real science behind its why. The attraction to red is probably based on the color of blood, which is the simplest signal the body can produce to announce fertility. And of course, when looking at the perspective of “species survival”, fertility is the name of the game.
Just like animals, we respond to biological triggers that indicate it’s time to mate – color being one of the most important. Think of the photos of baboons you’ve seen with those red sex organs! We are no different. We can even go so far as to say that men behave like animals when it comes to sex.
And the funny thing is that men aren’t even necessarily aware of this innate attraction to red. So if we know that there are millions of years of history indicating that men are sexually attracted to red, then it stands to reason that wearing red would give you a boost on the attraction meter when you are trying to get this cute guy’s attention.

When women wear red, men are more attracted, more likely to ask women out, and spend more money on a date. Isn’t that the best thing ever? Not only does your date think you’re super hot, but he’s going to spend more money on you because he thinks you’re hot. And all you have to do is wear red.
